About Me

About this blog!

I, (Danella) started this blog for our family! I think 99% of the time I would be the one blogging. This blogging world is new to me; I have been wanting to share this new stage of our lives with our friends and family! We love you all and welcome to our blog :]

A son's love

**by Samantha Richter ** Tiny hands, tiny feet. I've waited so long for us to meet. Who could've known a love so true. Innocent and perfect, you're safe within my arms. I'll watch over and protect you, I'll keep you safe from harm with mischief in your smile and wonder in your eyes. Watching you as you sleep, feeling every sigh, I could look at you for hours, and always be content. you became my living angel; when you were heaven sent. just the thought of you, makes my world seem full... you are my life, my love, my son: my precious Lucas

I Am Not Alone

( Author: Unknown ) Running errands and talking on the phone, I am pleasantly reminded that I am not alone. Little tiny hands, a precious rounded knee, pushing and twisting that no one can see. Oh sweet child kicking up your heels, it is our little secret that only I can feel. I look forward to your birth, when I can kiss your skin, but for now I will just smile, as I feel you play within.

Good job son!

I think Lucas really likes to go out.  The times that Andrew and I have gone out he has always behaved! Never cried or get fussy.  When my mother in law was here, we decided to go to the movies.  We were crossing our fingers so that Lucas would just sleep in his car seat the whole time we were out.  He actually did! There was a part where there was a car chase and that lasted for about 15 minutes; I was so nervous because the sound was really loud and there were helicopter noise, tire screeching, some gun shots and such.  But baby was just fine!! We were so so so happy.  Then, we decided to give it another try.  We went to the movies again; Estela went with us.  Lucas was asleep and when he woke up he was just chilling and looking at the screen (or the light of the screen :) ) We gave him a bottle and he was just fine the rest of the movie! We have a good baby.
Not too long ago, Andrew and I wanted to know if Lucas would let us watch a movie at home.  What was a 2 hour movie ended up being a 3.5 hour movie! He was a bit fussy and needed our attention.  So, that's why I say that he really likes to go out.  Last week we went to see my sister Estela dance for the BYU LU'AU and Lucas did really good! He didn't cry.  He woke up because of the loud noises but then didn't make a fuss about it.

We went to see OZ: The Great and Powerful the other day.  It was a lot of fun, I highly recommend that movie!!! Even though Lucas woke up practically when the movie started he behaved!

A lot of people who have children have told us that we wouldn't have a life anymore.  That a child was going to ruin our lives and everything was going to be about our son.  Well, even though our lives revolve around our son now (because he is so small! He wouldn't be able to do it on his own) we do have a life.  Andrew and I have still the same fun life we had before but now we have a great addition: our baby! Yes, it is a bit difficult to get the car seat ready, the diaper bag, to have to open the diaper bag in the middle of the movie and get a bottle ready-- and such.  But it really doesn't make any difference.
At the end of the movie people complimented us for having a good baby.  One woman told us, "Wow! your baby was really good, how old is he?" He is almost 8 weeks! :)

He really likes being around people.  Whenever we leave him in his crib he gets fussy and sometimes cry.  So, we put him in his little rocker and just put him wherever we are.  He is a happy baby.

Oh! and did I mention he L-O-V-E-S to get his diaper changed? If he is crying and whenever we put him on the changing table he stops crying because he knows he is going to have a diaper change.  This baby really likes being clean! He gets all wiggly and happy whenever he feels clean.

Yay! I have a clean bum!

Another thing that he REALLY likes is getting baths.  Andrew and I are so happy for having a really good baby.  We love him so dearly and we didn't know we were actually going to be this HEAD OVER HEELS in love with him.  He is a piece of heaven and we feel our home has been so blessed ever since we knew about our lovely child.

  1. Melissa has always loved to go out as well. When she was like 2 months old, we went to my sister's graduation, and it was sooo loud, and she behaved like a lady. When we put the key in the lock she always starts clapping, and waving and saying bye bye... Kids are awesome. Miss you amiga! Beijo!
