Two

Andrew and I celebrated our wedding anniversary #2 a few days ago!
These 2 years have been so wonderful.  Sometimes, it feels like we've been married forever! I cannot imagine my husband out of my life.  I am so happy that I have an eternal family and that our little family is growing! Next year, we will be 3! It makes us so happy to be parents for the first time.  Our poor baby will be our "guinea pig" :-) but that's OK... I was my parents' "guinea pig" too because I am the oldest.  They are so lenient with my youngest siblings now!
Anyway, to celebrate our year number #2 together we went to a spa.  I had never been to one! It was an amazing experience.  I was in charge of looking for one and found the perfect one! They pampered us for 3 hours!

Then, we went to the Natural History Museum! This was Andrew's idea.  He got us tickets.  I was a little sad that I didn't get to go while I was a student at the U (because it was free for U students).  I was so happy we were able to go!

There were some things that we could do in the museum.... So, for example in this picture, Andrew is trying to build something and then check if it can stand after an earthquake.  It didn't hold still :(

Baby, this one is for you!

Mommy and daddy are so excited to meet you. Even though sometimes you give mommy a hard time with morning sickness you are way too loved.  Daddy spoils both of us so much: he cooks, cleans, buys us snacks and works really hard.  He even rubs mommy’s tummy with lotion and coconut oil every night so I don’t get stretch marks.  The only way we know you are growing is because mommy’s tummy is growing.

I worry about you every single minute and the only way I know you are OK is because you move like you are dancing some reggaeton! You move so much that you’ve tickled me a few times.

Daddy is excited because the other day he put his face on my belly and you kicked like saying, “Hey dad!”

We love you and cannot wait to meet you!

Daddy takes advantage of my cravings and he eats our snacks too : ) I think that is cute. Also, we bought pre natal vitamins I the form of gummies and… daddy ate them too the first few days : )

I found out recently that I cannot sleep comfortably on my back.  I tend to sleep on my left or right side; I need to get used to it because I wake up once or twice a night in order to arrange my position.  I also found out you don’t like this : ) because every time I move from right to left or from left to right you kick like saying, “mom, let me sleep!!” and I just say in my head, “I know, I know baby, sorry.”

Daddy tells me I am not supposed to look any symptoms on the internet.  Sometimes, I forget to listen to him… though; I’ve been better at it : )  I always do this because I want you to be safe always.

You are going to be born at the end of January or the first days of February.  I hope the weather is nice when you decide to come.  Someone told me that when your daddy was born (in January as well) there was a storm and it took her forever to visit grandma and daddy at the hospital.  So, can I make a request in advance? Please come when it’s not snowing : ) : )

It seems that grandma Zuzu is coming in January, she is excited for you.  Your tios (both my siblings and daddy’s) are way too excited about you.  You are going to make my siblings tios for their first time!! I tell them they need to spend all their money on their first nephew.  Oh yeah… did I say nephew? Yes!

This is the note that the doctor sealed in an envelope.

We opened the sealed envelope and found out you are a boy not too long ago.  We are SO EXCITED, believe me! Daddy is already dreaming on how to teach you cool stuff like fixing things around the house, how to treat girls… and eating ice cream for breakfast on Saturdays while mommy still sleeps!! And I am already sad that someday you are going to leave the house to go on your mission and later college.  You make both of us so happy.

We already have so many dreams with you; you are making our little family of 2 grow : ) we pray that we are good parents to you.  We have no idea how to be parents and hope you are patient with us; you are going to teach us how to be parents for the very first time.  We love you baby, we are in the process of decorating your room!! I hope you like it once you come into the world.  We are going to take care of you and give you lots of endless love.  I am 5 months and 2 weeks today.  Clock is ticking… we cannot wait for you to come!

A trip to Massachusetts

Andrew and I went to Massachusetts last month.  It was awesome!

Last time we were in Boston Andrew didn’t take me to Boston downtown and ever since I’ve been giving him a hard time for it =D I am so happy we went downtown right after we got there! We went with Cameron, Brooke, Alexander and Melany.  We had a blast! I really enjoyed it! I can’t believe how “alive” this city is… nothing compared to Salt Lake City downtown!

Nobody knew I was pregnant, luckily I wasn’t really showing my baby bump.  Walking through downtown got tiring at times because it was so hot but either way I enjoyed it.

We went to this place that served different kinds of desserts and they were very tasty! We bought several and shared.

For lunch, we went to Regina Pizzeria and we ate a pizza.  

It was so delicious, Alexander got his own lunch of course because he wasn’t as cool  =D We enjoyed some of this while eating our lunch:

That weekend, we went to Martha’s Vineyard, it is an island located south of Cape Code.  The town is very very small, I am sure everyone knows each other! We had to take a ferry in order to get there.  I don’t usually get sick on ferries but this time Andrew and I were extra careful and took Dramamine with us just in case I get “morning sickness.” Luckily, I was just fine on the ferry, it was only 45 minutes to get there anyway.

We also went to the beach and enjoyed jumping off a bridge.  Not me of course, first of all I don't know how to swim and second of all... I am pregnant!

I don't know why this one came out blurry when I posted it on the blog.  Oh well, but before taking this picture someone said, "OK, now touch the bum of the person to you left!" All the sudden I feel 2 hands in each of my butt cheeks.  I  was like, "JEEZ ANDREW!!!" but then I found out that the other mysterious hand was Cameron's.  Love you Cammy!! =D

Hi there little one!!! 

So, just a few days ago we went to get "THE" ultrasound.  For the past few days I have been worried that I haven't been feeling those "butterflies" you are supposed to get at 18 weeks but I am so thankful the doctor put those doubts aside and put me at ease.  He said that not all mothers feel their little ones at 18 weeks and that I should wait just a bit more and I will feel my baby kicking!! While doing the ultrasound, I saw this little baby moving a lot, he even put one foot up (scroll down for picture).  Baby moved a lot, moved his/her little arms back and forth.  We saw almost every single of of the organs, even baby's little bladder and kidneys! 

Doctor said baby is OK, brain is OK, everything else is just fine and healthy.  Ohhh, I love this baby so much, I can't believe I am going to be a mother.  Sometimes I dream with this baby and even though I am able to see him/her I can't figure out if it is a boy or a girl! haha! :)

Hello daddy!

I forgot to mention that as soon as we arrived, Andrew told the doctor to please not tell us the gender of the baby.  We had brought an empty envelope with a blank piece of paper.  We asked the doctor to write the gender of the baby once the ultrasound was over.
After seeing our baby for over 30 minutes I asked the doctor if the gender could be determined.  She looked at me like saying, "oh yeah."
She said, I am going to write it now and seal the envelope.  We still have that envelope home and haven't opened it yet.  I think we are not going to hold it any longer and will open the envelope one of these days!! =D

A two line answer

By now you probably know that Andrew and I are expecting a baby.  We have known this since June! I came from work and I tried a pregnancy test just for fun and saw the 2 lines! (If you don't know how the pregnancy test works, it is 2 lines = pregnant and 1 line = not pregnant).  Anyway, I thought the 2 lines meant not pregnant so, I was OK with it.  However, I read once more and I found out I was pregnant.  I could not believe it! I really could not.  I didn't really "FEEL" pregnant.  I didn't even know how a pregnant woman felt. I took a picture of the pregnancy test and I sent it to Andrew right away with a note: I LOVE YOU! Half an hour later I called him because he had not responded and I asked him, "what do you think about the picture I sent?" Then he said, "what picture?" I told him to put me on hold while he checked that out.  When he came back to the phone he was SO EXCITED! he was laughing in awe and excitement!

So, I didn't know how far along I was, so... we decided to wait a week to call the doctor and set up an appointment.  I started to get this pain on my low right abdomen; sometimes it was really sharp! I looked it up on google and found that it could be an ectopic pregnancy which scared me.  I told Andrew this and he said not to worry about it but all I did was worry and worry.  After a few days I bled just a little bit and I was scared out of my wits!!!! I started crying and Andrew called the doctor.  We went to the doctor for an ultrasound and the baby was doing JUST FINE! The doctor said that the pain is normal and that I shouldn't worry about it at all.  I was only 7 weeks and was so happy to see my baby was in my uterus and this was the very first time we heard our baby's heart.  This was simply one of the best moments in our lives... to know that we had our little baby in there... and it had a heart! It was incredible.

Since then, it has been a LOOOOOOOOOOONG journey, believe me... specially for me.  The second and third month of my pregnancy were the worst.  I am so happy it's over.  I always felt nauseous, light-headed, dizzy, energy-less, tired and constantly vomiting.  Even brushing my teeth makes me feel sick (it still happens sometimes).  I lost my appetite as well; can you believe I didn't even want to go to Tucanos on my birthday? and we had that free meal birthday card!
We went to the doctor to get a prescription for my nausea and even with the medication I still felt sick and threw up.  There were days where I would come from work and just stay in bed for the rest of the day.  I am so grateful I have a loving and helping husband; he cooked and cleaned for so many weeks and still does whenever I feel sick and even when I'm not just to spoil me :)

From Provo to SLC!

I lived in Provo since 2005... such a long time! Even when I was getting my masters at the University of Utah, I still lived in Provo because Andrew was finishing off at BYU.  Well, we were both done last May and a great job opportunity came for both of us in Salt Lake.  We decided it made no sense to live in Provo anymore and we started to look for apartments in Salt Lake County.  We had no idea where to start! We just looked in KSL and Craigslist and some other webpages such as http://www.forrent.com/ .  We found a few good apartments and decided to check them out.  All of them looked good on the pictures but once we got saw them it was not worth it.  There even was one time that we made an appointment to see this particular apartment but once we hit the neighborhood I told Andrew, "let's turn around, I don't care how this apartment looks like, I dislike the neighborhood."  We didn't even know which neighborhoods were good and which were bad.  We looked everywhere for a period of a little less than 2 months and we were tired.  We were worried we didn't find anything and our contract was coming to an end.  Just days before our contract was over, Andrew said, "Ok, let's just go to an area that we like in Salt Lake--anything that looks good to us!-- and let's just stop and see whatever apartment complexes are on the way." So, we did it! We drove around good looking neighborhoods and stopped and see apartments that were available.  We found 2 that we really liked. On our way back home to Provo, we were deciding between these apartments.  We were debating either way, we were not completely satisfied with either but we decided we needed to compromise because we needed to move right away!  Andrew liked one apartment, I liked the other.  We didn't know what to do.

We were in Murray, there was a lot of traffic to get to the freeway.  The GPS said we needed to go straight but we decided to go left and maybe find another way to get to the freeway avoiding the traffic.  When we decided to be on the lane that goes left the traffic loosened up and we got stuck in the left lane. We were so mad, especially me.  Either way, we just waited and waited.  I think this was a blessing.

We turned left eventually and we saw an apartment complex.  We looked at each other and said, "nah, we are tired, plus, we already have 2 apartments we are deciding on." After a few seconds we said, "OK, this is THE LAST ONE!!"

I am so glad to took a look at that "last one." Don't you just get this feeling, "this IS my new home?"when you find that one apartment you are looking for? This is how Andrew and I felt.  We have been living in Salt Lake county since July 4th and are loving it!

Moving!

New Look!

Andrew left for an event and I had around 3 hours by myself. I was looking for things to do and then I thought about the blog and how bad I have been.  I started to write a post but then I thought maybe I could improve our blog's look a bit.  I ended up changing the whole thing! :) I hope you guys like it and I hope this makes me a better blogger. I hope I don't get bored of this new look because it took me such a long time to move things around, learn a bit of HTML, choose pictures and such.  It is not completely done; so, if you click on the first picture of the slideshow is going to take you to CNN! haha! I have been testing things... I will finalize it this weekend and make a post as well.
